If you’re ready to take your Twitter presence to the next level to generate more followers, engagement, and sales, there are a few Twitter marketing ideas you should incorporate as part of your strategy.

In this post, I wanted to share a few of those ideas with you, some of which were inspired by the awesome Twitter planner for 2021. After you’ve read this post, I highly recommend checking out that guide for even more helpful Twitter tips.

6 Twitter Marketing Ideas to Implement Now

These Twitter marketing ideas are all fairly easy things you can start implementing right away. Just make sure you track some key Twitter metrics to monitor how things are performing over time. This way, you’ll know what works for you and what doesn’t.

1. Share More Video Content

By now, it should come as no surprise that video content is where it’s at. When it comes to Twitter marketing, creating video consistently will help you stand out from others on the platform. Whether you’re sharing quick tips and tricks or having a #VideoReplyDay (where you reply to tweets with a video instead of text), it just helps you connect with your audience on a much deeper level. If you plan to give video a go, Twitter recommends keeping them short and sweet so people don’t leave before they’ve finished watching.

2. Plan Ahead to Create Seasonal Posts

It’s always a good idea to share content related to upcoming holidays, whether it’s Halloween, Christmas, or National Pizza Day. But how many times have you found yourself in a scramble to create seasonal content at the last minute? It’s stressful! That’s why you should plan ahead and make a note of all the holidays you want to share content for.

Then, you can create and schedule everything ahead of time, allowing you to take full advantage, especially when it comes to the trending holidays. Not only is it fun, but it can be an effective way to generate more exposure for your brand.

3. Take the Time to Highlight Your Offerings

Sometimes we’re so afraid of talking about our offerings too much that we don’t talk about them enough. However, you can’t expect people to buy from you if they have no idea what you’re selling. That’s why it’s important to talk about the things you have available, whether it’s coaching, courses, a book, or something else. You’ve created something amazing and the world deserves to know about that.

4. Have Flash Sales on Your Products or Services

Looking for a sure-fire way to boost sales over the course of the next year? This Twitter marketing tip is sure to help! People can’t resist a good sale, so it would be smart to have a flash sale that spans maybe two or three days. That short window creates a sense of urgency and encourages anyone who was previously on the fence about buying your product or service to finally make the purchase. It can be a helpful way to meet monthly income goals.

5. Get Creative with Audience Targeting When Running Ads

When you’re looking to reach a wider audience in a short amount of time, ads are the best way to go. Although, I sometimes feel like people overlook this element of Twitter marketing, opting to run ads on platforms like Facebook and Instagram instead. But if your audience is active on Twitter, it’s a great place to experiment with advertising. The key to getting a return on your investment is to target the right audience and develop ad content they’d find appealing.

Twitter actually offers two smart tips for targeting. For one, they suggest targeting the audience of a specific event. So, if there’s an upcoming event you know your ideal audience would attend, you can put your ads directly in front of them. For example, if you’re a social media manager, you might want to target the audience of an event all about social media marketing to hopefully get noticed by some potential clients.

Another option is to use conversation targeting, which allows you to target those who are interacting with a specific topic so you can then promote relevant tweets. Doing this helps you to be more precise with who your content is reaching and it’ll ensure you’re getting in front of all the right people.

6. Make Use of the Newest Feature, Twitter Spaces

Whenever Twitter adds a new feature, you know I have to test it out and I’ve been enjoying experimenting with Twitter Spaces. It’s definitely something I’ll be adding to my Twitter marketing strategy over the next year because I really see the value these live, audio-only conversations can add to those within my community. While it’s still in beta at the time of this post, I highly recommend participating in Spaces when they’re available, while also hosting your own once the feature makes its way to your account.
