When it comes to social media, you know it’s important to keep your accounts active. You want to make sure you’re consistently posting fresh content for your community to consume. But you also want to prioritize quality content and deliver the kinds of posts you know will resonate and be of interest to them.

However, we all have those moments when the creative juices just aren’t flowing… We have no idea what to share with the world. So, what are you to do?

5 Things to Post on Twitter Right Now

I have a few easy ideas of things to post on Twitter to ensure you always have something great to share.

1. Share a Motivational Quote

If you follow me on Twitter (@MadalynSklar), then you know I like to share a good quote. Quotes are something that appeals to any kind of audience and they’re highly shareable. People love to hit the retweet button on a quote that resonates with them.

But there are a couple of things to consider before you start adding a bunch of quotes to your social media queue. First, you always want to double-check the source. Make sure you’re attributing the quote to the right person! And second, consider the types of quotes that might appeal to your community.

For instance, if you’re a business coach, it would be smart to share inspirational quotes about building or running a business from other entrepreneurs. If you’re a food blogger, that probably wouldn’t go over well with your audience. Instead, find some fun quotes from well-known chefs and share those instead. And of course, there are general inspirational quotes that work well for just about everyone.

2. Tweet Some Fun Stories or Tidbits

Do you have a great story that you know your audience would get a kick out of? Are there some fun tidbits about yourself that you could share so they’ll get to know you a bit better? It’s totally up to you what you want to share with the Twitterverse.

I recently tweeted about my first five jobs after being tagged to do so. It was quick and easy to share, plus it was fun! It even gives my community a little glimpse into what I was up to before I became a Twitter marketing expert.

And if you do have a story that you want to share with everyone, make sure it’s easy to follow by using Twitter threads!

3. Give the Link to Your Most Recent Piece of Content

When searching for things to post on Twitter, ask yourself when you last shared a link to your most recent piece of content. Has it been a while? Then share it again! There’s no shame in spreading the word about the incredible blog posts, YouTube videos, and podcasts you’re creating. You put a lot of time and effort into bringing that content to life and it deserves to be seen. Send out the tweet and let people know what you’ve been working on.

4. Tell Everyone What You’ve Been Watching/Reading/Listening To

Have you recently discovered an amazing TV show, book, or podcast that your community needs to know about? Tell them! People love to discover fresh content and new creators to binge on. Plus, if you’re sharing things like YouTube channels, blogs, or podcasts, that creator is probably going to be thrilled to receive any extra word-of-mouth promotion.

I watched a past TED Talk with Bill Gates and shared it with my community because it was timely and I knew it would be of interest to them.

If you have a book to rave about, you can include your Amazon affiliate link to make some additional cash. That’s a win-win! The same goes when you talk about a business tool that you recently discovered and have been loving. Spread the word!

5. Share Snippets of Your Day Through Photos & Video

When you can share bits of your day with your community, it makes them feel like they’re hanging out with you. And it allows them to get to know you a little better and ultimately build a strong, trusting relationship. That’s key for anyone looking to build an online business.

So, when you’re thinking about things to post on Twitter, ask yourself what you could snap some photos of. You could share your workspace, the furry co-worker who spends the day at your feet (or in your lap), and even what you do when you take a lunch break. Get creative with this! And don’t be afraid to incorporate some videos into the mix as well.
