Cool Things to Do With Twitter Video Content

Twitter video

Did you know that people watch two billion videos on Twitter per day? In fact, statistics show it’s the #3 reason why people actually use the platform. So, the question is… Are you creating amazing Twitter video content for your community to consume? If not, you’re missing out!

Video is a fantastic way to help you gain exposure, connect with your audience, and potentially generate more shares than usual. (Because tweets with video have been shown to get 10x the engagement!) Now, I’ve previously shared some great ideas for Twitter video content to help you implement it into your content strategy. But this post has a few more things you’ll want to take advantage of. They’re sure to help you and your videos stand out on the platform.

Cool Things to Do With Twitter Video Content

Ready to take the plunge and give Twitter video a go? Here are a few things you should try:

Use Twitter’s Media Studio to Optimize Your Videos

If you happen to have access to Twitter’s Media Studio, you’ll want to make sure you take advantage of its features whenever you’re sharing video content. For those who aren’t familiar with this particular tool, I have a blog post all about it. Essentially, through Twitter’s Media Studio you’re able to schedule tweets and modify other data.

With video content, you’ll be able to add various metadata for your video posts. You can edit the video’s title, add a call to action, upload captions, and more. Plus, you’ll be able to attach a link to your video. All great features you’ll want to use!

Send a Personal Video Reply to Someone

For those who follow me on Twitter, you know I love a good video reply. It even inspired my very own #VideoReplyDay initiative that I started back in 2017. It’s essentially another way to connect with your community on a deeper level. I mean, how often does someone take the time to actually send you a video response instead of a text response? It’s much more personal and it really shows your community that you care about them.

One great way to implement this into your own Twitter strategy is to choose one day every week or just every month to be your #VideoReplyDay. Then, whenever someone tweets you, respond with a video that’s just for them. To encourage tweets on this particular day, it would be an awesome idea to have a Q&A session to get your community to send in tweets you can answer with videos.

Embed Another User’s Video Without Retweeting

Sometimes you might come across an awesome video that you just have to share with your followers. But what if you don’t want to retweet the original post? Well, there’s actually a way around that while still giving the original poster credit.

From your iOS or Android device, you’ll be able to do this with ease. On iOS, simple press and hold on the video. You’ll then see a pop-up that gives you the option to “Tweet Video.” Select that and then compose your tweet. You’ll notice the original tweet’s URL will be added to the post already. When the post has been shared, it will show the video credits underneath the video itself. You can do this on Android devices by selecting the share button on a specific tweet and choosing “Copy link to Tweet.”
